I believe that these are Barn Swallows, but my reference book image isn't that good. Can anyone confirm or identify if not? In any case, they are pretty little critters, and fantastic, acrobatic flyers.

    Taken at the local pond, with the D2H / 300mm 2.8 + TC-17EII.

  2. I never see those land!! They are always swooping around the air!! :D  :D  :D  :D
  3. Frank, those are great shots!

I have to think back about 30 years but those look very similar to the barn swallows that were at my aunt's farm when I was a kid. I'm pretty sure they were light-colored on the underside but dark on the top side.

I've been out practising today but still have a long way to go for birds in flight. Trying to get comfy with my new digital friend!
  4. Excellent images Frank. Your 300mm lens is kicking butt.

Really great photos Frank (what else would we expect?)! Just perfect. More of your trained birds, huh?

I think your right Frank. Looks like barn swallows. Great shot by the way. Guess I'll try out my 1.7 tomorrow.

Good job on getting a shot of them perched, I always just see them flying. Fast birds.
