Tail Breach

    This humpback calf is only 6 months old, but is practicing tail breaching. I love the way the water is sheeting in this shot. Tail breaches are much harder to capture than the head breaches, there is not even the slightest disturbance on the water until the the tail is well out. Head breaches usually last a little longer, thus a better chance of getting a shot.

  4. Excellent capture - love the water flow both under and over the tail. I could look at breach shots all day long..... beautiful!

    Great picture. We are counting down the days for our vacation in ME. We will be doing a whale watching trip and hope to see a few.
