Still playing with my new 200 f4 Micro...

Can anyone guess what this is? I don't expect it to be all that easy to identify. So, if nobody guesses the answer, I'll be posting clue #2 soon...and then clue #3 if necessary.

Here's clue #1:

I thought spaghetti at first too but the color's wrong...

At this point I'm still stumped...

Edit:

Possibly some kind of chalk...?

Spaghetti viewed end on?

Unbelievable! You got it!!!!!

I didn't think that was possible.

Here was my second clue:

The lighting in the second photo is such that the natural color of the item is now revealed:

And, then there was going to be third clue.

Excellent job.

I thought it was chalk at first because of the color and the scratches on the end of the pieces. Spaghetti?? Never would have guessed!

That was an amazing guess! Well done!

Yes...the closer you get to things, the harder they are to identify! I thought I was safe in that nobody would guess correctly until at least the second photo was revealed. Here's the third photo of the sequence:

Almost sorry I got it so quickly now

Don't be!

I put it up on a general forum for the university that I attended. There were a lot of guesses made and someone finally got the correct answer after about an hour. Then, I looked at this forum and saw that the very first response was correct!

Now the third photo I would have recognized. Really like all three images.

Okay - what's our next test?

+1

Thanks!

I'll have to come up with another test. With the new macro lens, I should be able to come up with something. After all, the closer I get the more difficult it is to identify the item.
