Tamaron 180 mm Macro for $600 new??

Does anyone here use the Tamron 180 mm Macro lens? Their 90 mm macro lens is widely regarded as a solid medium telephoto macro lens. I am thinking of purchasing one within the next week from B&H so I still qualify for the $50 rebate. For $600 it is significantly less than the Nikon which sells for $1300.

Owned one a few years ago. Excellent lens. I now own the Sigma 150 2.8. I think it's a better lens. A lens just can't be any sharper or have better contrast for even double the price than the Sigma - seriously. HSM makes it a respectable portrait lens that is quicker to focus than your average macro. If I'm buing a macro today, I'm buying the Sigma 150 2.8 over anything else as the best value and with no compromise to quality.
