Obscenely expensive list price [$800 ish].

Compare it against the Sigma 10-20 [$469] or tokina 12-24 [$499]. Above $700, why fight, just get the nikkor 12-24 :)
  3. Ignore list price

I have never seen a Tamron lens sell for anything close to their "list price" on the web site. My local camera store (and B&H) will be selling it for $570.
  4. What are the specs on this lens? This would be a very nice addition to my line up.
  5. They can be found at Tamron 11-18. But basically 11-18mm, f4.5-5.6, street price around $550, 77mm filter size. I have talked with one photographer how has used a pre-production model and he was stunned with high the quality.

I am waiting patiently. It is supposed to be in the store in May....

Sigma is coming out with a 10-20 with a price that looks to be about $100 less than the Tamron.

    Sigma 10-20 $469 at Adorama

    Tamron 11-18 $569 at Adorama

It would be nice to see a single review comparing the 2 lenses, but that could take a while. I still haven't seen any good in-depth reviews on the already released 18-200 zooms from Tamron and Sigma.
