Tamron 24-70mm VC - $1300???

I was stunned to see the price for this new lens at $1300. I mean for $200 more one can pick up a used Nikon 24-70 in good condition. It will be interesting to see how it performs.

A Nikon with VR will probably be $1000 more than that. Tamron has VC in it. I am actually waiting for real world tests on the Tamron. the manufacturers website hasn't posted wide open samples yet.

I find it to be super useful when shooting low light stills. I would also want to buy one to help minimize camera shake when doing DSLR video.

VR (VC) is a useful tool, regardless of the FL. :biggrin:

Coming from a K5 that had in-body VR, you never really miss it until you don't have it. Even on the shorter lenses, I had to think less about shutter speed than I do now.
