Tamron 90mm Di Macro

I thought that some of you would like to know that this lens, along with the Sigma 105mm EX DG Macro, both scored top marks in a very brief test done by Photography Monthly in the UK.
The Nikkor 105mm was listed as 'optically surperb' but lost marks on 'value for money.' Not surprising really as it is twice as expensive as the other two.

I am not surprised that the Tamron rated so high. I have
the older Tamron SP 90mm and it is razor sharp. It would
be interesting to do a side by side against the Nikon 105.
My only criticism is that the Tamron seems to lack contrast
in comparison to my Nikon glass. (IMHO)

I have the tamron and I think it is ok. Granted I've not done much with macro photography and am just getting started. I have been reasonably satisfied so far with the results. I really lust for the 200 micro but it will be a long time before that happens.
