I finally got around to shooting this lens a little on my D600 and wasn't digging the results as much as I did on the D7K. I'm hoping that it was just because it was a dreary wintery day and the photos were naturally just dull but something just seemed off. I'm going to test it a bit more fore deciding on selling it or not( I was suppose to sell it a year ago haha)
Mine stays on the D300 for added reach I shoot everything else on the D700. Maybe like many lenses the center is dead sharp and that's what a DX camera will give you.

Been meaning to sell this lens for awhile now but just can't let go lol.

With the results I'm getting with my Sigma 70-200os/Sigma 2X TC it may be time to let it go though.

Just snapped...

All of these were taken this past weekend with the Tamron 70-300 VC. I was using Shutter priority mode for most of these, so shutter speeds range from 1/125-1/320. Aperture range was from f/6.3-f/13 at varying focal lengths.

All shots are more or less straight out of camera with only slight exposure, brightness, and contrast adjustments.

Very nice there Tom!

JT
Thank you Sir.

How is this lens compare to the Nikon 70-30 vr?

The price after rebate is $350, not bad!
I owned both at the same time and sold the Nikon. MY COPY of the Nikon was soft at 300mm wide open and the VC is better than the VR on MY COPIES. I do caps to avoid the debate just so you know, your results may vary but for me I made the right choice.
