I spent some 29 days in the bush of Tanzania this past Feb and March, marking my 5th safari into this area. Lots of great images and great memories. These trips just keep getting better and better. My next trip to Tanzania is in 2009 and again in 2010, both designed to be in the middle of the great wildebeest migration. So here is my first posting from the trip. Cheers and enjoy:

Cameras were D300 or D2x, glass was usually a 200-400VR or less. Once in a great while, I would pull out the 500mm. I'll post more in a week or so.

I've too have been to Africa. Once you make a trip like that I've lost a desire to go to the zoo as seeing animals like that in their natural habitat is an incredible sight.

    Excellent shots!

Also excellent info you posted regarding your safari. I was in Tanzania in '87 and I wish to return, although I'm not sure the tour company I is with is still around.

I would share pictures, but I had no clue what I was doing with a camera back then and it shows (although wishing to return!).

  15. beautiful shots, looks like that was one hell of a trip. I'd love to do that someday.
