Nice set Randy. I especially like the first and last. That first shot would be awesome if you could move that log to a place with a clean BG

Nice set Randy.
What kind of Focal length is useful there?

thx troy

Sunday I am taking the 500, the 70-200 + 1.4tc, the d300s and d700

flight shots need a handheld zoom, chicks and portraits need 500

you should be fine with the 600 on fx and the 300 + 1.4 on fx for flight shots.....there are alot of flight shots there, as many as i've seen anywhere, very often and very predictible

get there at 8m and stake a claim to a spot on the rail at the end in front of the big tree

when they open at 8 to let shooters in give them a credit card and drivers license and when you leave they will have your photo pass ready ($79.95)
the pass let's you in an hr early and you get to stay at least an hr late....
around 6 they will ask if you wanna stay later and we give the girl $5 each to stay

Randy, thank you for the tips. :) I will give my 300mm for a workout hopefully.

Nice stuff. That last spoony is an awkward position but it really shows off the plummage. Great detail and perfect exposure. Good job.
