"The Beast" Nikon 28-70mm f/2.8D Anyone got a lead on one???

I'm going nuts trying to find a Nikon 28-70mm f/2.8D ED IF AF-S Lens. I have tried all my local SoCal shops and checked on line for most of the major retailers like B&H, Calumet etc. Seems everyone is out of stock and backordered. The only place that claimed to hav it in stock was Circuit City (???) but for about $300 more than any real camera store advertised. If anyone has a lead on one in a local shop please let me know. Thanks all!
