  1. With apologies to Mr. Hitchcock.

Lately I have been noticing a very large flockof black birds doing some strange flocking/roosting behavior every afternoon as I come home from work. These are f4 or so, ISO 400 or 800, ~1/125, VR on, hand held.

Today I grabbed my D2X and 70-200 and finally got some shots. I will go back for more in better light and with different lenses. I have noticed a much larger group earlier in the afternoon. Quite amazing to watch them swoop as a flock.

Yes I see that with them all the time. Hundreds of them.
    Convention I think.

Always up on the power lines as well.

    definately a convention!

  4. What strikes me as odd is that it is always the same spot. Between two particular poles. And when the entire gang is there, there are about four times what you see in these images.

  5. Yes, instantly reminded me of Mr Hitchcock.
