The Bunt (Not)

  1. A sequence of shots of an aborted bunt. Plus one each of two very stylish pitchers. And a how-to of how not to steal home. Jr. League baseball.

All shot 1/1250, f5.6-6.3, ISO400, most at 250-300mm using a D50 and the Sigma APO 70-300mm lens. I take delivery of a late-model Nikon 80-200 ED IF next week, and the New England College League starts the week after. Can't wait.

  2. Nice series of shots. That slide is something else.

  3. Do you have an "after" shot of the slider, LOL...

That last shot is great! I agree with Chris...I want to see the next frame!

  5. No I don't. Unfortunately, he hurt himself on the slide (but recovered) and was quickly surrounded. He was covered from head to toe in dust though, but I didn't think to shoot him after his recovery.

  6. Thanks, Randy....coming from you I consider that a real compliment.

Unfoturnately, no, he hurt himself and was quickly surrounded. Also my D50 shooting raw only does about 2.5fps (my main reason for wanting a D200 when I can afford it) so I can only get limited number of frames. I did get a shot of him starting his "dive" but since I was zone-focused on the plate, the shot was enough out of focus to not be a keeper.
