The D80, the 180, and ISO1600

    I have 180mm also, it is a lovely sharp lens !!

  3. great exposure but i think your photo is suffering from motion blur. i would be curious to see it without any NR...?

    Thank you, Al. Truly a great lens - and such a bargain for the results we get, eh?

    Spot on, Joe. I was out of light and no support. My technique isn't good enough to get consisten sharp results handheld with this lens below 1/160s unless I can lean up against something or squat and shoot. I must've taken a dozen shots of this kid trying to get one without his hands at his face but none of the others were sharp enough to post here without further embarrassing myself!

    Here's a version w/o NR and I bumped the contrast just a bit for better isolation.

    Next time I'm in a situation like this I'm going to 3200. You guys convinced me in the other thread.
