I loved aimlessly wandering around Old Quebec. It is such a walkable old city with loads of alleyways, cul-de-sacs, side streets and places to people watch. This is the Rue du Cul de Sac in Lower Town, looking up to Le Chateau Frontenac at dusk.
I saw this scene and it took me back to the 1940s and 50s film noire scenes and I wanted to create that look here. The wk.an walking along the street was a happy accident that turned a photograph into a story.
I have this photo on my dining room wall
done in sepia on canvas.
