As commercialized, sometimes expensive and packed as it might be, Walt Disney World is one of my favorite places to take a quick trip and escape real-life back at home. It's a place to relax, have fun and feel like a kid again.

Even though I've been 3 times in the past year and a half, I have friends down there now and seeing their updates are making me "home"sick...and for me, there is no better way to remedy that feeling than flipping through pictures of The Happiest Place on Earth!

The wildest ride in the west...

Thanks all! These are pretty mediocre compared to a lot of Disney shots I've seen in many Flickr groups I'm a member of, but I'd like to think they're getting better with each trip.

Disney is a double-edged sword for me. There is so much interesting stuff to snap away at, but at the same time there are so many fun things to do that I can't concentrate as much as I'd like on photos. I think I need to take a solo trip just for picture taking...or at least that's what I'll tell my Husband when he shoots down the idea of another trip this Fall.

Great photos! I wish I were there now. Wait a minute, I will be down there in just 8 days.

Miss seeing your posts on The Dis, kinda wondering what happened, but have an idea. I don't post there anymore, just lurk under my wifes user name.

Hey there! I tend to frequent the DIS when I'm planning a trip, plus---some of the people are just getting to be a bit much. It used to be a much happier place, as a Disney forum should be!

As an aside, how are you liking the switch to Nikon? Got any 180 pics to share? That is easily my most used lens now.

Thanks for sharing these wonderful pictures. May I ask which lens will be most useful with this trip? Thanks.
I always take my whole kit and switch lenses each day, but it really depends on what you want to shoot. I think if I had to pick one lens to use for an entire trip, it would be my Sigma 30/1.4. It's wide enough to get shots of rides, buildings; the f/1.4 allows for good dark-ride shooting and creative use of shallow DOF around the parks; the minimum focusing distance isn't really big like it is with my 180/2.8 so you won't have to worry as much about people crossing in front of your shot and the focal length is fine for taking shots of the family.
