How important are filters like the Circular Polriser and the 81A. Are they generally used to cut reflections and improve blues etc. How many of you find them in your camera bag at all times ?
What other filters would one recommend for general use apart from thr UV ?
  2. Hi Riki!

The respective filters are in my bag all the time, but rarely used. Maybe I'm simply too lazy.

I frequently use the CP especially during mid day shoots or around water. Glare off metal and worse, the "sparklies" off leaves are greatly reduced. I use only Nikon CPs and pay the high price. The bottom line is that it doesn't make sense to use cheap filters on expensive glass. I'm sure others have found less costly filters that satisfy their needs. Other type filters- I don't play with them.
