We photograph them from various angles in groups, as close-ups, and as macros. What do we like about them – the variety, the colors, the overall structure, the detail, the texture? Yes – all of the above. Here are a couple of mine:

Thanks Tim -- 'tis the season -- maybe we should have an iris festival

  4. I particularly like the first one, very elegant.

Thanks Anthony. That's one of only a few that were not beaten down by wind and rain. [The second one had its share of wind.]

    Wow they are just beautiful

  7. Very beautiful!! I usually spend a few days photographing them at work in the resident's garden. I haven't had a chance to check out the selection this year. I call my images, 'A Study in Iris'.

There is an iris farm in Northern NJ. They said that their irises are late this year and should be peaking around the first of June.

    Thank you Gale and Crystall.
Crystall, check out that garden and show us your "Study in Iris". We used to have some other varieties, but our gardens don't always get the care they need:redface:.

Thanks Torben and Biggs. For me, the iris is one of nature's more interesting forms.

  12. Very nicely done, Bob. You always do such wonderful work, IMO. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Tom, but, as I said before, it's nature's genius.
