That looks like an Evil Overlord bird:biggrin:

  2. It is a pity he/she is against a dark background - 12 inches either way would have had a great light green.

Good captures. My only KF was a 4 pixel blurr flying away at 100 MPH.

    Nice job. Congratulations.

Like Nick says, if I ever came up with a shot of a kingfisher, it would be of his tailfeathers and it would be OOF.

  4. Thanks Mike

    They are elusive

  5. I wish I could set him up once, but as you know you only get what is given.

  6. Thanks Pia

I will still try to get even better shots but You can only get what is given.

    Well your getting closer Gary.

    Bring some shiners with ya...lolol

    Nice shots

  8. I doubt there is a clear perfect shot in these birds and for sure you won't get two.

  9. Goor series of captures Gary.

In this situation you just have to go with what is given. D*** birds just don't understand clean backgrounds and sweet light do they? Pretty good given the conditions!

  11. Thanks Lou

  12. It is no studio out there Andy and if you move even a inch you won't get any shots. I think I'm moving on to something a bit easier and more flashy.

Here is one of half a bird with better BG:
    KingFisher.

I have 4 nemesis here - The Common, Pied, White-throated and Black-capped. Have captures of them, but none is good.
