It is images like this that make it all worth it to get the 85mm f/1.4.

    D200, 85mm f/1.4, ISO 180, f/2.2, ss 1/250

Beautiful image from a great lens. A great image to show what this lens can do in portraiture. Thanks for sharing.

Woof, nice shot! That lens is amazing, but a bit limited IMO. However, when I see images like this I know I made the right decision not to sell my 85 1.4, which I nearly did. Nice work!
  9. Here's a reason for me to buy an 85mm 1.4.
  10. I agree, the 85mm f1.4 lens is super and so is your image.

  12. Do you tend to use your 85mm for all of your portrait type shots?

Dave, Joe, David, Chris, Banhup, Taylor, Fred, Phil, Gordon, nuteshack, Phil: Thanks for the compliments!!

Hayden: Because of the high image quality I get from it, I try to use the 85mm as much as I can for portraiture. When I don't have the space (indoors) to use the 85mm, I tend to use a 50/1.4 or 50/1.8. If I need the flexibility of a zoom lens, I'll use a 28-70/2.8, but I reach for primes whenever I can.
  15. Yeah Gilbert, I'd say that is reason for the 85mm f1.4
  16. Great photo of a real cutie!

Beautiful! Love the processing and this absolutely is a definitive 85mm 1.4 portrait. Way to go!
  18. Great shot from a great piece of glass!! I love mine...
  19. Beautiful. Cute kid. And one more reason why the 85 1.4 is one of the lenses on the top of my lust list.
