What created the shadow in #3? I ask because it seems like an optical impossibility perhaps caused by post-processing.

20 years from now, your perspective about when fall colors are supposed to appear may be completely different.

Mike , no trick for the shadow , it was 7am or so , the sun was just coming up behind the mountain on my right , in fact I took the picture for the shadow …
or may be its a ghost : Don't forget the road to fall always lead to Halloween !! ?

Beautiful fall colors. The only fall colors I have here are brown hills. With winter rain they turn green. Thats it. Brown or green.
