I recently acquired this lens in hopes of it being a high quality general use optic. I don't do a lot of real macro work, more along the lines of close-up handhelds. But I also wanted landscape and portrait capability.

Its still very new to me but I'm really pleased with it so far. Its a bulky beast but since it fills several sets of shoes this aspect is easily overlooked.

Here's an informal shot of my dog.... and please disregard that distracting patch of snow to the right

    A very regal dog.
  3. I also just got this lens recently after lusting for it for ages! The VR is a BIG BONUS for me as I can do Macros handheld

What I did with it recently

I have not had it long,

but I already know it's sharp enough to cut you.

This lens is a lot of fun just because you can do so many things with it and do them so well.
