Seriously, if you want to understand color models, watch Marc Levoy's two lectures on color and play with his "applets". My link is to Lecture 12 of his 18-lecture series on digital photography, which is the best I've ever seen. Lecture 13 is more advanced color theory.
In Lecture 12, he starts from Isaac Newton's 1665 experiment and builds your understanding step-by-step.

I remember Newton’s experiments from school lectures (not around at the time of course!) and seem to recall feeling interesting but actually missing just how clever and advanced the mans thought process and how people like him pushed knowledge boundaries
