While photographing the players from my 12U baseball team last weekend, the sister of one of my players asked if she could have her portrait made.

Glenn,

Would you consider sharing your lighting setup?

DG
Of course...

This is the most complicated lighting setup that I've tried so far.
  • Main light- Einstein strobe in large 47" octabox position camera left
  • Rim light- Einstein strobe in strip softbox positioned behind subject to left
  • Rim light- Einstein strobe in strip softbox positioned behind subject to right
  • Backlight- Nikon SB-900 fired into an umbrella to light the green screen
  • Hair light- Nikon SB-800 hung over the subject with a bungee cord
  • Diffuser- positioned camera right to partially fill in the shadows
The main light was set for a good exposure at f/8. The rim lights were set about 1/2 stop brighter than the main light.

I hope this helps.

Glenn
