This week at the wetlands has been slow as far as birds, but there has been plenty of other wildlife to photograph. I saw the family of Black-bellied ducks and I was able to sneak down to the water level to get some close shots of the family. As I was photographing the ducks, someone informed that there was a deer on the other side of the road. I first saw a young buck that was none too concerned with my presence. Then I saw a doe and two fawns. One of the fawns was playfully bucking and frolicking. It was quite fun to watch. View attachment 224753 Yesterday I went back and saw a few purple gallinules. Was able to get one halfway decent shot. View attachment 224754 Then I found the otters in one of their favorite sleeping spots, a palm stump very close to the road.
