This week at the wetlands has been slow as far as birds, but there has been plenty of other wildlife to photograph.

I saw the family of Black-bellied ducks and I was able to sneak down to the water level to get some close shots of the family.

As I was photographing the ducks, someone informed that there was a deer on the other side of the road. I first saw a young buck that was none too concerned with my presence. Then I saw a doe and two fawns. One of the fawns was playfully bucking and frolicking. It was quite fun to watch.

Yesterday I went back and saw a few purple gallinules. Was able to get one halfway decent shot.

Then I found the otters in one of their favorite sleeping spots, a palm stump very close to the road.

    Thanks Louie
Much apprecaited and yes I did use my 70-300 for these.

Much appreciated Nancy. I saw these fawns at around 11:00am. Which is later than I would expect them to be out.

I like the first otter shot a lot - great expression. Most be hot with a lot of bugs out there now.
