Theme portrait

  1. I find theme portrait assignments to be much more difficult than just taking people pics. In this instance,
my buddy Giorgio wanted a shot in front of Maggiano's ristorante to show the folks back home how much he
misses them. I took some shots with the "Little Italy" signs in the background, and came up with this
composition. The title was graciously provided by an Italian photographer who participates on DPR.

I used the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 and the SB800 with the diffuser dome.
  2. This image has a warm comfortable feel to it Frank. You have done well.

    Looks good, Frank

The exposure looks great, and the "ristorante" spftly oof in the bg is a nice touch, as is the title. Not completely wild about the brown pole, but where else you gonna place him? Is there anything that bothers *you* about this shot?
  4. Thanks, Gordon. The warmth is the result of mixed light, but it seems to work.

You're right about the pole, Steve. I wish I could have come up with a different placement, but it was the only prop available.
