There Is a Reason They Call It Iceland! Part 2 - Vatnajokull Glacier, Iceland

  1. After we got down the mountain road (in Part 1), we went to a lake formed at the bottom edge of the Vatnajokull Glacier. The lake is filled with icebergs that have calved off of the glacier. You can see the glacier in the background of the photo:

    They had anphibian vehicles called LARC's (US military surplus :confused: ) which we could ride out onto the lake:

    And see the icebergs close-up, note another LARC in the background for size:

  2. I am sure enjoying these. This is something I would love to see first hand but mowt likely will never get to.
