Harry, you sure are making this a loooooong week....

Nice shots. I would guess that these were taken with the 300 f4? How far away?

    Regards,

    Hi Mike,

The osprey was witth the 300/f4 and 1.4 TC and the eagle was with the 80-400VR. I was shooting some birds that were close to shore so I was using the 80-400. I had seen the eagle flying earlier so I keep looking towards the dead tree because I knew he would be stopping by there and then I saw him. I hightailed it over to the tree and didn't want to change lenses in case he took off.

    Hey Frank,

The osprey was with the 300mm + 1.4 TC and the eagle was with the 80-400.

I was about 10 feet from the tree and I would guess the tree was 40-50 feet high.

I'm guessing that it will be a popular spot.

  12. Hi Harry,

Awsome eagles shots. Especially love the last one. In case noone has noticed it, the dead tree makes a V sign for «Victory, I have succeeded to organize a fun party for birds shooters around me» :D

    Thanks for sharing.

  13. Wow that last shot of the eagle is fantastic, very interesting and different pose. You keep making me very jealous that I can't get down there to join you folks!!

    Hi Harry,
Wonderful shots of the Osprey and the Eagle. (was that your 300 f/4?). Do you use a monopod, tripod or handheld?

Wish I could be there to see that tree and those birds in person next weekend. I am looking forward to seeing all the awesome posts that will start appearing probably over the weekend.

I will stay tuned and I wish you all great fortune in your bird quest.

    Best to you and Linda,
    Gaye

    Hi Harry,
I really am feeling the pain of not being able to go over there this coming weekend. I'll be thinking of you all. My hope is to get over to Ding Darling those two days and at least get some birdies on this coast to make up for all I won't get over there..

The 80-400 did a fabulous job on the eagle..really great pictures and the color is outstanding too. Good job!!! I am impressed for sure!

I may work out something with you later to get over there.. That's something to look forward to in the future,

Know you'll have a great time and say HI to all,

    Gaye
