Can't tell you how many shots I've taken to just get one that looks allright...not great...just allright.

Bob - Given how quick they are, that's a nice shot of a nuthatch on the move. I've gotten some shots where one has landed for seed but have never come close to getting one in flight. No doubt about it, that image represents both patience and skill.

Well done, Bob. I've never even attempted a flight shot of a nuthatch...getting them perched is hard enough!
Thanks Jim. Much appreciated. Yes they usually don't stay in one location long enough to get a good shot. I must say I put the D6 through it's paces to even get this shot. Thinking if I had cranked up the SS to 8000 I would have gotten better feather detail.
