But I want a high level DX. D300s ore better, not a D7000 replacement at best.
And that's the whole point that Thom is adressing, I believe.
No question that Nikon will continue producing DX models for many years to come. They still make significant money on them.
But Thom is saying that it seems likely that DX will no more have high-end, flagship models (both bodies and lenses) that it used to have. This part of the product line might be completely delegated to FX models now.
Right now, we are seeing DX as being targeted to low and middle low segment of the market, with D7000 being the top model for this group of users. Anyone wanting more is being directed to FX. More than ever before, it seems likely to remain that way.
