Today my wife and I found three varieties of trillium blooming within a 50-meter radius.

These are so nice. How do you like the 50 f.18 S? Does it have a close focusing distance?
I like it a lot. No it doesn't have close focusing, but I have extension tubes.

Those are great, Jim, especially like the Wake Robin.
The Wake Robin and the single painted trillium blossom were focus stacks "in the wild", using the extension tubes. I started to do that on the white grandiflora, but the wind got up and the rain started just as I got it set up.

I really like the close-ups, Jim. Did you focus stack them?
Thanks, Mike. Please read post #4.

Great finds and photos, Jim - well done as always.
Many thanks, Eric.

Love the Painted Trillium. Very few and far between in my neck of the woods. Bucket list plant.
Thanks. Mike. We've had trouble finding painted trillium in this location the past few years but they are prolific this year. My wife counted 25 blossoms in one patch and nearly 40 about 1/2 mile from there.

Very nice Jim. I have only seen white in the mountains around here.
These are lovely! I don't think I've ever seen Trilliums before, or if I have, not in their native environment. Well done, Jim!
Thanks, folks. The white ones are the most common, and they fade to pink as they age.
