Thrush's first day out

Discussion in 'Birds' started by Clivegriff, May 29, 2007.

  1. Hi again - long time no post.

I've just finished my final exam of the year as Leeds University's oldest under-graduate so I've had little spare time for photography over the last few months.

I've been keeping an eye on this thrushes' nest in a monkey puzzle tree outside my dining room window.

I think the first brood got taken by magpies but the pair persevered and at the weekend there were four chicks visible and competing for their parents' attention.

Today this one has ventured out of the nest and onto a branch but it's still being visited and fed by its parents.

    Cool catch Clive.

  4. Thanks, Gale. I enjoyed my first year at uni (albeit 35 years too late).

Thanks, Flew. It's been fun watching these birds close-up from a comfortable "hide".
