Thursday night lights - Freshman football.

  1. I went to the last 1/2 of my nephew's game today and took a few shots. Nothing spectacular as the game ended in a 0-0 tie.

Had I just been on the other side of the field, this would have been good.

Nice to see you shooting football in the Great State of Texas. Looking forward to seeing much more as the season moves on. I like the attitude shown in #3.

I like the last shot a lot ... just remember it's all about faces ....
  5. Faces are the money shot, but sometimes you just have to shoot what you have. Some games they always run righ at you and others they seem to run away from you, no matter where you position yourself.

geez, does every field in texas have field turf :)  lol
  7. Almost all the large high schools have gone to the new style turf. It's really nice and soft and gives some so you don't get nearly as many knee inuries as the old style turf. If they don't have this turf, they have grass but because of the extreme heat it's hard to keep looking nice.

I was told that the cost of the turf and maintenance is $820,000 which is supposed to last 5 years and apparently that is pretty close to the cost of keep up natural turf or the same time frame. Could just be a sales pitch, I don't know.

It sure is nice when kneeling on the sidelines sinc it is so cushioned.

yeah those field turfs are nice to play on to be honest. Only thing I hated was when the stupid rubber pellets would get into your shoes or clothes. Kinda annoying.

Also this past weekend I shot on one for the first time, it will also be the last time I shoot with shorts on those type of fields! Those rubber pellets were killing my knees!
