Chgo/Glenview. my heart, New Mexico
Found this yesterday in a drawer. My guess it's from one of hundreds of rolls of Kodachrome 25 parked in about 140 Airquipt metal 36 trays or another 30 Carosel rounds.

I do miss the fun of sorting slides on a light table and developing b&w.
Oh, and that smell of film in a canister like a new box of crayons.

i had a very similar experience a couple days ago
i opened a case with a 4x5 and several loaded film holders, and film smell hit me
funny how strongly smells can trigger memory

one story: I was shooting for the air force, and responding to an on-call
i had very little time to get to the hanger, and just my luck they singled out my car for random inspection
part of that was having a dog go over things with hi nose
apparently the dog found a scent that was 'of interest'
the guard asked me if i had any photographic film in the car, as sometimes the dogs confused that with explosives
keep in mind, i had two large tamrac camera bags, a tripod, and a large 8x10 placard in the windshield reading 'Base Photographer'

your photo made me a little sad too, though
it remonded me just how much i miss kodachrome

I remember those days, had my own color lab in the garage, printed thousands for customers. Fresh film is like the first day of school when they passed out the xerox copies. I am sure it is some cancer causing stuff involved. Probably where my sinus issues came from, not to mention sarcoidosis on my lungs.
