Nice. How did you pull it off?

I originally wanted a colored background, but I couldn't get it diffuse enough to keep from being obvious what it was (a bunch of colored Sharpie caps). So I used a black cloth instead.

I took two sheets of glass, cleaned them off very well, then poured soapy water on one sheet and laid the other on top of it, letting the bulk of the suds & water drain off into the kitchen sink.

I then took a couple chip clips (used to hold potato chip bags shut) to keep the upper sheet from 'creeping', since my shooting table was just ever-so-slightly out of level.

I placed the two sheets of glass on top of two jars on the table, with a black cloth between them. I shot straight down through the glass and on to the black cloth.

A D600 with a Nikkor 105/2.8D on a Manfrotto 190XPROB to shoot with, and lighting done with a pair of 300ws monolights set very obliquely to the glass.

I had to shoot at a slight angle to keep my reflection from showing up.
