  1. At long last I have purchased and watched the incredible DVD 'Winged Migration.' For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about; this was the film that won an Oscar in 2002 for Best Documentary Feature.
The film covers the migration flights and dangers involved covering 24 species of birds. A lot of the action takes place in America, although the Far East-Europe-and the Amazon are also covered. There are quite ;large number of Geese featured, but so are Cranes, Bald Eagle, and the Arctic Ten.

I have aimed this thread at Birders, but anybody who has an interest in nature will find it a sheer joy to watch. Amazon Stock it.

For those who like are interested in insects, then look at the DVD Microcosmos. Quite extraordinary film by two marvelous French Natural History still and movie film makers.

  2. I have WInged Migrations and agree 100%, it's a must get for your film library even if you don't have one! :D

I have not seen Microcosmos, thanks for the tip!

Winged Migration is superb! And one day I'll get Microcosmos.
