Some days the opportunities abound. These were taken with the 300/4 + TC14EII.

I came across this Killdeer while stalking a Great Blue Heron.

He was pulling the old broken wing thing to lure me away - from what I am not sure.

This is him tapping his foot when I was slow to follow.

Well, I did catch up with the heron.

As we got back home we saw the Flicker in the tree out back, so I pulled out the 500/4 and TC14 and came up with these two shots:

Then I took a nap as well.

Hope you enjoyed a peek into my day.

awesome shots of the Kildeer Rory! Especially that second one. He (she?) must have a nest close by. And I see you've brought out your pet Flickers again ;-)

Phantasic shots Rory! I always marvel at those excellent bird pics.
Fortunately, I know that I'm too lazy to lugg around big glass and a tripod, otherwise another big amount of my savings would be gone for good

Nice stuff, Rory, I really like the pose of the last GBH. I have a heck of a time finding them up here out in the open that way, seems I always have a ton of reeds and bush right behind them.

D2X, eh? Maybe someday I'll make the "move up". How do you like the HSC mode?

Hi Bill

I have tried it twice, but have not found the need yet. As long as you have the memory I prefer to do my cropping in photoshop.

Did you ever do any work on the script? I have been beavering away.
