A little earlier this month I succumbed to LLD. Had wanted a wide angle zoom for awhile and I've seen so many good things about the Tokina offering that I couldn't resist any longer. Here's one of the first efforts with it.

jfrancis,

Thanks you as well. To be honest, I did do some PP work in Photoshop.

I was originally looking at the Nikor, but I just couldn't swing it. Then I began reading a lot of good things about the Tokina and decided to go that route.

Very nice image Steve...were you using a circular polarizing filter? Wonderful detail in the clouds...tack sharp as well. Enjoy your new piece.

Frank,

Haven't picked up a circular polarizer for this lens yet. Will have to break down shortly and pick one up.

It was a really dry day, no humidity or haze to deal with, and the sky was pretty blue. But, I confess, I did add a little Saturation in PS.

Thanks,

Steve

anand and Jay,

Haven't had a lot of time to play with the new lens yet. Just some quick test shots when I received it. Then went outside and took a few.

So far so good. Just wish I could get out to use it a little more.

The saturation sorta makes the clouds look fake, but that just might be me.

I've heard great things about the Tokina. Enjoy your new purchase!

Steve,

Nice shot with this lens. I've been drooling over it since I read the reviews.

Seems like everyone is enjoying it.

If I can just get my wife to loosen the purse strings!

That's a great shot. Can anyone point me to any reviews of the lens. I too have been looking at the Nikon, but it would burn a hole in my wallet. I'd love to read anything I could on it.
