Pinot Noir is a classic pairing with salmon. Placing salmon on cedar planks is a classic way of cooking the fish. The background in the photo is a pair of cedar planks after they became burned when my friend cooked salmon on them. She gave me the planks knowing I would eventually use them in a photo. I had no idea I would use them with wine, much less Pinot Noir.

Setup
The tabletop is a vinyl floor tile and the background is a pair of burned cedar planks. A small continuous-light lamp was high in the front left area. A white reflector on the right side added the reflection to that side of the bottle. A black piece of paper added to the bottom of the reflector prevented the label from also being brightened.
