At least I'm pretty sure this was Hunter-Jumper. It was horses jumping, that's for sure!

Between today's heat and humidity, it was the kind of air that your lungs just say "nope, you're NOT bringing THAT in here!" I was rather in awe of these beautiful riders and their horses, working so hard in the heat (and wearing those jackets!).

Again, what suggestions do you have to improve next time?

The adults were impressive

I found the kids to be more fun to shoot! This haze was from the a.m.

hahahaa....I'm working on it!!

Very nice! all look very clean and sharp
Thank you Randy. The morning conditions were better, no harsh sun. I was actually surprised at the ease of getting the sun behind me for afternoon shooting (and thus not shooting directly into the sun).

Great job Gretchen, these are very sharp and crisp. Great images.
Thank you for your kind words!

Very nice series of images and I like the subtle placement of your name on the crossbar.:biggrin:
Hahahaa, yes, I've learned a few things here at the Cafe!

Very, very nice, Gretchen. All very sharp, well-exposed, captured at the height of action, and with great looks at the faces (horses and riders). I'll bet this was lots of fun to shoot.

I'm pretty sure these shots are all from hunter-jumper events. My wife competed for several years, and was on the riding team (the Redcoats) at Radford College (now Radford University).

Thank you Dave! It was a lot of fun. I need to work on educating myself about horse events and terminology!
