Tried the 105VR at school play

Rather than take my 17-55mm to the school play I decided to give the 105VR some exercise. The school has just fitted some new stage lighting so I wasn't sure how things would turn out.

I was four or five rows back from the stage, so ended up shooting through people's heads to get shots of my daughter, but I actually like the shots where she is framed by those heads in silhouette.

All with D2X and 105mm f/2.8 VR at ISO 800, f/2.8 and shutter speeds between 1/30s-1/80s.

What do you think of this sample?

Number 1 is my favorite...seems like she's scoping someone out...perhaps mom or dad? You can see the love in her eyes that you're there...watching her very important moment. Very different...very good!

Thanks Seneca. She was trying to see me so I could take her picture. This was her first play where she had a speaking part, so she was very excited
