Trip to the Zoo......

Discussion in 'Birds' started by Backdoctor, Dec 29, 2005.

  1. Met Birger, his daughter and soninlaw and grandkids, and UncleFrank at the zoo. First chance to use my 70-200, even if with my D10 and not H. Lots of shady shots and then clouds came. I'll leave the people shots to UF, I think I'm better with animals...

I dont have Mike Mac's nick for all this, and this was shot thru a steel wire aviary:

Now I can see what all the excitement in your voice was all about when we talked earlier! Sorry I seemed so preoccupied with my own problems. These are just great! Did you use a TC with it at all?
  3. Had the 1.4x on and handheld all day...

Excellant captures, Harris. I aspire to shoot sports the way that you shoot animals. WOW!

Sooo....guess you'll be returning that piece of garbage they call a lens:biggrin:

Just fantastic...That Flamingo shot is a wall hanger Harris! What Zoo?
  8. those are really excellent! I love the colours of the flamingos! And I especially love the bald eagles (my alltime favourite). I would never guess there was plexiglass there.

  14. What did Charlton Heston say about his gun, "when they pry it from my cold dead hands..." or something to that effect...
  15. Ann, there was some glare, but I got close to the glass, tried to have the animal in my shadow, and improved contrast in NC4

  16. Thanks Radz... the flamingos are so colorful...
