Windows 7: Dragging my files into Vegas from Windows Explorer I just could not get Vegas to read my mov files from my cameras. Installing and uninstalling Quicktime a thousand times, trying all sorts of "solutions" found on the net, downloading and installing converters (but of course that deteriorates the quality) did nothing to help.
But I have finally found my solution: Instead of clicking and dragging the files form Windows Explorer into Vegas (which works with all other formats I've tried), try opening the files from within Vegas itself, either by (from memory here) File>Import, or go to the built-in Vegas Explorer tab and drag to the timeline from there. Voila, they load form there fine!
Grrrrr many hours of wasted time
