We usually don't see them outside of Yellowstone and occasionally at Oxbow Bend in the Tetons. This one was enjoying a pond that's fed by the Wind River near me in Dubois.

Very nice! Our largest migratory waterfowl. One of my favorite birds; we have a pair that nest nearby, and had three cygnets this year, but only two survived. Not sure what happened to the third one, but we have plenty of bears (both brown and black), wolves, and coyotes in the area.

Thanks Steve. We occasionally see them east of the Divide but not regularly.
