I picked up a 55mm f/2.8 Micro-Nikkor lens from KEH and did some test shots with it on my D200. I wanted a Micro lens that I could use on both my digital Nikon and my film Nikons.

The money lens in my kit. Had it for over twenty-five years. I talked a friend of mine into buying an old, battered one for $25 for taking product shots for his catalog. It doesn't come off his camera for weeks on end.

I used to have one and the only reason why I went with the 105 f4 Micro was because I was in need of a longer focal length.
It is a fine lens, as shown here through your beautiful photographs.
Enjoy!
