    Not easy here...

I finally have the D3 here... happy times...

I already have the 85 1.4 but also need a shorter and light alternative.

A 35 would be great but it's 2.0 (I cannot handle with MF on 1.4 model), the 50 1.4 would be great but it's not 35mm... it's not easy. Sig 30mm is not on the game since it's not for FF.

Difficult to find some good samples of both lens on full frame (fully open).

If you have it, samples and comments will be very welcome.

    Thanks a lot.

  2. On the D3

On the D3 the 35/2 is a more useful focal length IMHO (at least for me it is)

I find the 50 to work great on a DX format but not full frame.

    Which 50/1.4? The Nikkor?

  4. Hello, I have 85m 50 and the 35/f, the 35 and the 50 are very different! the 35 is a too wide for everyday people photography, the 35 makes a great street photography lens, its much wider, the 15mm difference is no joke! it really depends on what you need to get first, they are both great but for my type of photography I find the 50 more useful as I leave it on the camera most of the time the range is perfect on FX, the 35 has richer colors/contrast in my opinion which makes it a better <story lens>. I'd test both at the store first and see which one you like more, they are really very different,

    Hey Ricky,

thanks a lot, beautifull photos and love your city btw (HQ of my company is close SF and I always visit this nice town).

As both lens are cheap, maybe better to get both and test it, I think.
This way I will have a fun time here evaluating wich one attend my needs.

    Cheers and thank you.
