Tulip w/Sigma 70-200 & 500D

Discussion in 'Macro, Flowers, Insects, and Greenery' started by bfullmer, Apr 18, 2007.

  1. I just bought a 500D from Larry D (great seller BTW), and gave it a try with my Sigma 70-200 2.8 and 1.4 TC.
    A tulip was waiting for its picture to be taken and I obliged.

    It holds it's own against the 55 2.8 micro.

    I think I'm going to enjoy it.

    Nice images. I really like the 500D, especially on the zoom where the range gives you different magnifications. Heavy little bugger isn't it?

  5. Thanks for the comments Jeff. Yes the 500D is surprisingly heavy. I agree with you about using it on a zoom. I tried it on my 180 and there sure isn't much range. Best to stick with the 70-200.

  7. Very nice, love that second shot. Nice and sharp.

  8. Gale;

    Thanks for for your kind words. I'm sure you're going to love your 500D. I'd be interested in seeing how it works on the 80-400 you just bought. Should be a great combination.

    Sandi;

    Is the decent weather still holding up? Can't wait for more of your shots. Thanks for looking and commenting.
