Absolutely horrible conditions, but I've been trying to get a phoebe shot (one of our earliest spring migrants) and my buddy the beaver swam right up to me...so I of course had to take it's picture....

Good stuff here, guy ! I've been thinking about and you and wondering what's up out there in scenic MA. I'd suppose these were shot with your 500mm and the TC ?

Neat shot of the beaver, BTW. All those times I was wandering around the woods in northern Ontario and came across them, I never had any good gear to shoot with, so this is a particularly nice one to see.

We've had uncharacteristically grey afternoons, which have put paid to ideas about shooting around SF with the spring colours starting to sprout. But maybe I'll have some good opportunities next week around the north end of San Francisco Bay...
