Hello!

Somehow this male Aeshna cyanea reminded me of a typewriter. He was patrolling close above water level in a ditch. He had a starting point and it was like after every word he wrote, he stopped for awhile and hovered still, all the way to the end of a row. Bling! He returned to the starting point to write a new row...

Very nice, Jukka

If only our Aeshnas would hover, I could try for some flight shots, too!

You should follow your own advice: "I would avoid cutting the wings"

By the way, didn´t you mentioned once you have A. juncea there too. Those hover still a lot and often very predictably...

Great DIF shots Jukka. I never thought of this beautiful dragon as a typewriter but true enough, he often flies the same trail over and over again. Sometimes he will come up close to you and look you in the eyes.

Tak, Torben!

This one too came pretty darn close few times, I guess a 50mm would be the best choise in those situations...

Excellent work Jukka. What's the keeper rate on these types of shots?

Thanks, Rich!

I think I took about 80 shots and I kept about 20...

Fantastic set of images!

Thanks, Angela!

Awesome shots!

You should number them for easy reference.

Thanks, Alex!

Will do!

Amazing photos....you have to be the "fastest draw on the cafe". Thanks for posting.

Actually, my camera was on a tripod and I just wait the Dragon to enter inside the "range". As mentioned he was doing it over and over again so I got many chances to try to shoot him, I didn´t need to follow him arround, just wait... it wasn´t that difficult...
