Typewriter of the Air

Hello!

Somehow this male Aeshna cyanea reminded me of a typewriter. He was patrolling close above water level in a ditch. He had a starting point and it was like after every word he wrote, he stopped for awhile and hovered still, all the way to the end of a row. Bling! He returned to the starting point to write a new row...

By the way, didn´t you mentioned once you have A. juncea there too. Those hover still a lot and often very predictably...

Great DIF shots Jukka. I never thought of this beautiful dragon as a typewriter but true enough, he often flies the same trail over and over again. Sometimes he will come up close to you and look you in the eyes. :smile:

This one too came pretty darn close few times, I guess a 50mm would be the best choise in those situations...

Actually, my camera was on a tripod and I just wait the Dragon to enter inside the "range". As mentioned he was doing it over and over again so I got many chances to try to shoot him, I didn´t need to follow him arround, just wait... it wasn´t that difficult...
