I already own the M. Zuiko 60/2.8 but the 45/1.8 has a little sale going, $50 off not bad, so I keep thinking that's not bad, I can do that too! But that said I have 2 trips next month, one for where I'd use the 45 (portraits), which is better than my 60 2.8 there (although it'd work, just have to step back, and one where I go hiking in the mountains, and try to capture falls, and wildlife (birding). Used to carry around the Nikon 70-300VR (on both FX and DX) and loved it. Also I find that the 60 is a bit too long for my liking, but use the 85 (24-85) much on my FX camera, so the 45mm on u4/3rds may work. Unsure if I can afford both at this time..... either the 45/1.8 or the 75-300 M. Zuiko/or 100-300 Panny (not sure at all there either!). Both the latter lenses seem to lack in my opinion from what I've seen, but am told they are as good as the 70-300 Nikon..... ??? Just know that I'd love the 45, but not sure I 'need' it..... not sure....
Any comments? Have time yet but not much if I want to get these on sale. Being equal the Panny 100-300 at $499 is the usual price, but the Olympus M. Zuiko 75-300 is on sale at $499 too! The min A on the the Panny seems nicer, but the lens is a tad bigger. The 45 seems like it's a great lens for my purposes at a great price point now ($349.00) Decisions! Or not??? :)

I don't have any experience with the tele zooms for m4/3, since I don't use m4/3 for long lens shooting... I find the AF tracking performance unacceptable. Instead, I picked up a Nikon V1 and use my 70-300 VR with the FT-1 adapter with good results.

I do own the 45/1.8 and it's a sweet little lens! Perfect for portraits with lovely bokeh, and sharp wide open, too!

Sorry if this didn't make your decision easier
